Suspiria: Reworking of reputedly 'classic' Italian film of same name by Dario Argento

This comes under the heading of ‘bat-shit crazy horror’ but not in a wholly good way. It struck me that there was an attempt to incorporate a political element into the story rather than it just being the story of witches in a dance academy which I sort of understand is what the Argento film was - which I think I will see just for comparison’s sake.

There is a certain visual stylishness about it, but in a rather grey pre-Berlin-Wall-era way which does somewhat jar with the nature of the story. But Tilde Swinton adds style and class, as she does to any film.

In a way I think it was taking itself a bit too seriously and there was not enough fun about it - or a sense of the ridiculous.

Star Trek; Into Darkness. Mildly disappointing sequel to the marvellous initial reboot film

True History of the Kelly Gang; Wildly weird and stylish look at Australia's most notorious outlaws.
