Line of Duty: Series 1. Gripping procedural thriller that unfolds slinkily and grippingly.

I only heard of this series as the final season drew to a close and there was much press chatter about the revelation of the mysterious ‘H’ - so to start it at that time was rather weird, but this first series was wonderful. Grippingly serious with incredibly well-drawn characters and their inter-relationships that are gradually, but very plausibly, revealed. There is none of the ‘sudden extraordinary revelation’ technique that puts everything in a completely new light but of which nothing has previously been said. The new strands which are introduced are plausible and fascinating and I am very much looking forward to the continuation in Series 2.

The sense of being involved in a teal investigation is gripping and, to me, highly plausible - although it would be interesting to hear from actual police officers about just how true and plausible it is.

So, a great start and something that will keep me involved for quite some time - I hope. I think too that there is probably one major plot strand for the whole series which gradually becomes revealed as the series progress. But we will see.

All 4. Leaving Neverland; Michael Jackson and Me. Almost unbearably painful stories of two boys and their relationship with Michael Jackson
