More magic. This performance took place in a tent outside MUPA and the atmosphere was established from when we entered and waited to be allowed into the performing space. There was an illuminated wall on which we could attach little strips of light, transparent fabric for a wish which was a lovely start to the experience.

Seating was on the floor once inside the tent and the piece - the title meaning Prayer but which I, and my companions read as a life cycle performance from birth to death - was a solo one. The character started on the ground, was gradually raised on rope supports (best word?) and then returned to the ground, exiting slowly towards a bright white light. The lighting was a central part of the success of the piece with a star-like effect all around us and the then very effective use of soft spot lit light streams playing over the audience and performer. It was wonderfully and very effectively immersive which played a large part in the impact and success of the piece. The brevity was very effective though.

It took a little while for the magic to work, for me, but when it did…

Another remarkable success - what will they come up with next?
