This is going to; be a very brief ‘review’ if you can call it that but simply to say that this was the most wildly enjoyable, absurdly and campily ridiculous production I have seen for a very long time. I’m sure a missed a great many jokes in the dialogue but there was more than enough happening in the stage (and in the pit – the witty Agamemnon theme quote!)
The stage was a riot of colour – costumes, wigs, everything - and was gloriously anachronistic to boot. And how can you NOT love a performance where you have 6 male dancers on roller blades with upper-body glittery lederhosen and black tulle short skirts!
