Adam LeBor: District VIII
An upcoming read by a local parent/author and journalist. An excellent read. Very slickly written ( this is a compliment) and the vivid local colour is riveting...particularly if you live here as I do. Felt it was much better than The Budapest Protocol as central character was more varied and rounded than in first novel. A little bit darker and was particularly interesting to see how local events/personalities had been Beverly included...not in reality but in interesting parallel style so that one could recognise them ( eg there was a clear Orban-type central character) but if one did not know this then ones enjoyment was not marred in any way.
Apparently more to come so looking forward.
