Clare Mackintosh: I See You

Clare Mackintosh: I See You

Riveting thriller with a creepily effective idea around which it is built. There was great use of the commuter setting and a very pertinent reminder of how while surveillance cameras are so widespread, they can be used for grimly nefarious purposes.

Characters well drawn an not all overly sympathetic - and as well a great plot twist at the very end. A very effective structure too with the multiple narrators keeping one always engaged in the action. The perspective too on the effect of rape/sexual assault, its long-term repercussions and how different people necessarily react and respond in very different ways was also effective and very perceptive.

A fine and gripping read.
