Gabrial Garcia Marquez: One Hundred Degrees of Solitude

Gabrial Garcia Marquez: One Hundred Degrees of Solitude

Finally starting...my first Magical Realism text. Is that the right term?

Ok confession time. Just over halfway through but that's it. Intrigued and much enjoyed at the start, happily accepting the bizarre amongst the mundane and superb poetic language but now just rambles on and too much in way of events seems to be piling up rather pointlessly. Characters ( many of whom have very similar names) appear and re-appear and I'm at the stage of shrugging. It has lost the narrative drive I discerned at the start .

On to something else.
