Jonas Jonasson: Hitman Anders and the Meaning of it All.

Promising.

Tone and style ( and some characters) strongly remind me of great film In Bruges.

Update.

More than meeting its promise. Beautifully dryly written/translated.

And done!

Enormous fun and really smartly plotted with constant plausible development...and the brief final chapter is a super end. Characters grow and develop wonderfully and all this superbly maintained by the dryly ironical tone that is both mocking and affectionate. The characters and main theme ( religion) are really well and originally written about with much truth in the humour.

Think may try another book although the best known one (the Hundred Year Old Man....) I did glance at but it did not immediately appeal. Think will have to check it again
