Neil Gaiman: The Sandman; Brief Lives

Well read a couple of this sequence...not in order and intriguing in their richness of plotting although I do not like many of the illustrators styles. The connected collection had more of a larger-scale structure than the Dream Country but none if the episodes really gripped me and entertained me in the way the ' take' on MND did in that collection. Also, in the Dream collection there was a greater variety of tone and style as the connections between them were much more general ( the idea of a dream) sand this idea was explored in a widely fascinating collection. Here it is essentially one slightly shaggy-dog style story with a satisfying if somewhat predictable end. A decent light read but no more.
