Neil Gaiman: Trigger Warning

Neil Gaiman: Trigger Warning

A marvelous collection. He has an amazing imagination and in virtually every story there is a 'wow' moment..either for a detail or for the impact of the whole story. Some( very few) do not work and there is a 'meh' reaction but these are very rare..almost all the ones written in verse where I did not feel there was any reason, compelling or otherwise, for it to be in that form.

I also liked the fact that, unlike many other short stories the impact of each was not because of some twist but something more interesting...the looking at or retelling of a known story from a different perspective where the originality gradually dawned. Plenty of different voices too which is always welcome. Must read more of his work. And I have the feeling that I could read X books by him and each would b totally different whereas with many other authors read that number and you begin to see, increasingly, the similarities in terms of style and content.
