Phillip Pullman: The Book of Dust. Volume 2: The Secret Commonwealth

So after starting and then, inexplicably, putting it down for a few weeks, I recently completed...and it’s as wonderfully powerful, thoughtful and satisfying as I hoped it would be. There’s an utter mastery of the material and structure with each story strand being if exactly the right length. The gradual, often small cross-references that crop up, particularly in the latter part, are particularly admirable and grippingly engaging.
I cannot...but will have to...wait for the next and final volume.
