Phillip Pullman: The Imagination Chamber
This is a strange little gem of a book. I thought it was one of the ‘extra’ novellas that Pullman has published to go with the Dark Materials and Book of Dust trilogies. But it is rather more interesting and consists of a series of comments/reflections/allusions to characters and situations in these great works. They are rather like ‘prose poems’ many very short indeed but they all, in their way, illuminate little aspects of the trilogy, the characters and sometimes are more general reflections on life, and writing but always with the two trilogy connections.
