A very quiet but very powerful film that deals with a very dark subject - the incipient dementia of one of a long-term couple and how they try to deal with it. Tucci and Firth are wonderful and manage to convey a sense of an intimate lifetime relationship that is beginning to come to its end although neither want that.
While emotionally powerful, there is no melodrama - but conversely, no lack of very strong and passionate emotion either. In that sense it’s a very British film with massive understatement of enormous emotional issues. Marvellous film.
