The Chalet. Tense French, richly plotted 2-timelines thriller showing how past and present are connected

Thoroughly gripping. A lot to absorb in the first couple of episodes as the two timelines and major characters are established, but it’s marvelouslly structured and, in the final analysis, cleverly and satisfyingy pulled together. Final revelations are very well held back so that the final solution is eminently satisfying. The glorious setting adds much to the sense of drama and the disconnect between that and the events depicted is a major strength of the series.

Length was absolutely right - no lags in story-telling or tension but enough time taken to show emotions and relationships between all so that the characters become ones that we are involved with and care for.

A super piece of work
