This provided very enjoyable Sunday afternoon viewing - just the right sort of film for that situation. It did not try to be more serious/significant than it is - which is really not serious at all. the characters were endearing and the plotting was effective - not least as the basis was one essential action, repeated three times.
It was flagged up/sold as a ‘prequel’ to the slightly less enjoyable/more bloated Army of the Dead - itself pretty good fun admittedly - but you did not need to know that.
