Cube: Self-consciously baffling puzzle thriller that is not as smart as it likes to think it is

In spite of strictures in the opening line, this was indeed intriguing - and it did not give any neat conclusion - in fact it was remarkable for the lack of explanation of the situation and the ending. It did have the courage of its convictions which was welcome. Towards the end there was one event which led to the final bloodbath about which I feel ambivalent ambivalent - did it really work or was it a bit of a cliche.

the visuals were good and the camera work effective given the very fixed location in which the action took place.

Good to see a film that did not, by and large, pander, and feel the need to give answers.

Opening Night: Endearingly old-fashioned backstage comedy that works in spite of many cliches

Twin Murders: The Silence of the White City. Unoriginal Spanish serial-killer thriller.
