Jargo. A coming of age and maturity story with some original cross-cultural elements.

If not a traditional coming-of-age stpry, then certainly a coming to maturity story. A young teen boy whose father commits suicide comes back to Germany, falls in with the wrong person and gets in a complicated relationship with two girls.

The cultural shock of coming to Germany as a young teen after having only lived in Saudi Arabia was very well an empathetically done and the characters and their relationships were thoughtfully drawn. I liked the device of having the titular characters have various talks with his deceased father’s ghost, the ending of which marked the start of his growth into a mature young man who has left his time of bad decisions behind him.

Unassuming and enjoyable.
