This was an interestingly-made film. It started very much as a dark comedy-drama with strong ‘Wolf of Wall Street’ overtones but then it morphed into something rather more serious once consequences and the rush for more and more money led to a far more casual approach to the consequences of what the protagonists were doing.

It was effective to use the main characters speaking as if in an actual documentary and it helped to; flesh out their characters. It was interesting technique within the fictional events clearly being based on real life situations and circumstances (Sackler’s primarily of course…) and yet the characters having their own life as part of a darkly engaging drama.

Doi Boy: largely compelling contemporary Far Eastern drama with sound mix of personal and political

The Killer: Superbly gripping, wonderfully controlled piece of film-making.
