This started off grippingly well. The enclosed setting of an airline cabin from which there is no escape and no hiding place reminded me of how the greatest tension is often achieved by choosing a setting such as this. Cillian M was superbly intense, able to switch from charming to near-psycho in a flash his seductive good looks (those eyes!) lulling one into a sense of warm security.
Sadly, once we moved off the plane, the film fell back into predictable clichés with the dreary ‘woman in peril being chased by a psycho’ territory and my interest rapidly waned.
But the first part was very fine.
