The Highwaymen: Fine true-life account of the end of Bonnie & Clyde through eyes of two Texas rangers who were (unofficially) used to capture them.

Excellent true-life drama with the focus being on the aged Texas Rangers brought out of retirement to deal with Bonnie and Clyde. the rapport and relationship between them (K.Costner and W. Harrelson) was excellent and gripping and the sense of past traumas was very effectively, but not luridly done and provided a steady supportive backdrop to the apparently main events.

It was highly effective how we only glimpsed the two, B and C, often from afar until the ending which gave us a very effective way of being placed in the same position as the lawmen

The socio-economic background of the times (the Great Depression in the mid-West) was excellently shown but not in a clunkingly obvious way - and the admiration that ‘the [people’ had for the myth of B and C was most smartly done.

A thoroughly enjoyable evening’s viewing.
