Us. Superbly original horror-thriller with provocative ending.

God, this was good!. At the start it reminded me of Funny Games with the apparently meaningless terrorising of a family with whom we had rapidly got emotionally involved. The setting, in a sunny and apparently idyllic contributed greatly to the success of the film, as did the smartly judicious use of silence on the soundtrack.

Many of the tropes of the bog-standard zombie movie were used -implacable and powerful creatures who seemed to be almost impossible to defeat, but this was very far from being the case.

The ending was superb - the ‘explanation’ suddenly made one change one’s perceptions of the Reds - of humans generally in fact - and the final twist/revelation was stunning. I did NOT see that coming.

A fantastic film; DO see.

Apt Pupil. Powerful adaptation of Stephen King drama that raises many questions

The Game. Decent thriller from David Fincher marred only by logistical and planning implausibility
