A surprisingly full and comprehensive show of a photographer whom I did not recognize from the name but did ‘know’ when I saw certain images – particularly the fashion ones. For me the B & W pictures were considerably more interesting and merited closer looking than many of the colour ones – although this may be due to the fact that these latter ones were often for advertising/commercial purposes whereas the B & W ones were often far more personal.
His versatility was very impressive and there was a fine mix of apparently ‘casual’ shots (the little boy holding a baguette on the back of a bike while turning round and grinning was particularly memorable (and recognized)) while many of the fashion ones had a quirky element that was most refreshing.
