This was a superb exhibition and an exemplary way to present. Plenty of film clips, everything in two languages and really creative and imaginative layout, with the eye constantly being cleverly guided around the show. Some superb original visuals too, particularly a fascinating representation of how Hungarian film-makers have extended their influence world-wide.

It was both a history of film and a history of Hungarian film...Hungarian pioneers had contact with the Lumiere brothers for example and towards the end there were some excellent sub-sections showing the amazingly important influence of Hungarian film-makers in the creation of Hollywood's. After all two major studios were created by Hungarians...Fried (Fox) and Zukor (Paramount). And that's without mentioning the directors, actors and composers who played such a big part.

The days of film under Communism (and before) the role of censors etc was fascinatingly explored and it was interesting that almost all the time in those periods, animation was a pretty constant source of radical ideas that permeated society below the surface.
