This was an inteersting show, as much for where it took place and how it was presented as for the content. The gallery itself seems to be part of an arts centre and I get the sense that it is an important commu ity centre with a great range of events, amateur and professional going on.
Finding the show was tricky - the directions in the building were subtle and understated to say the best. The exhibition had an intersting layout - it seemed somewhat at random with images of a wide range of sizes often in unexpected locations e.g. some small images very high up. I assume this was the artist’s wish but it was tricky to see the rationale. There was a rather unclear ‘catalogue’ which indicated the numbers, title and locations of the images but as none of the images were numbered it was not much use tbh. I can understand only having a number by the image so that one can respond to the image ‘as is’ and not have one thoughts directed by the title, but to have monthing by the image seemed rather daft.
I liked his body images best -some perceptive protraits and particularly close-up’s of individuals and, the best ones, extreme close-ups of part of a body so that the image was almost abstract. the night images were very beautiful too.
Worth seeing though - but this was the last day.
