David Leavitt: The Indian Clerk
This very good indeed. Maths baffling, (sorry Jon Dancyger!) but, cleverly, does not inhibit the drama although it is central concern. Most fascinating aspect so far is picture it gives of febrile and intense world of Cambridge academics and the 'Apostles'. Whole world depicted is incredibly insular and suffused with home-eroticism of a weirdly veiled nature. Very camp but not camp as we know it, Jim
