David Levithan: Boy Meets Boy

David Levithan: Boy Meets Boy

Don’t bother to read this. After 15 pages I realised not worth continuing with.Tritely implausible as it tries SO hard to be hip/understanding/forward thinking.

Cannot understand how won a Lambda Award ( ( what were the losers like?!!!) Gives ‘gay fiction’ a really bad name by its poor quality and prettily insular self-regard.

Strength of feeling perhaps exacerbated by having just finished Homintern book which does truly show what can be achieved artistically socially and politically by gay artists.

Also note that originally American young adult book so has all worst qualities...self-regarding preachiness above all.
