Murakami: Hard-Boiled Wonderland and the End of the World
Remarkable.
A bizarrely weird mix. At first two apparently disconnected narratives...a hard-boiled noir-style mystery but in a world which is both current and futuristic...and the futuristic elements have weird mental science ideas behind them. These are only made somewhat apparent by about halfway through but I am not sure 🤔 to what extent the science and ideas are true/ believable/plausible. Suspect they are but would have to re-read to be sure.
The second narrative does connect about halfway through which works well.
Very different styles in two narratives. In the second, new works one the various elements come together.
Interesting though
