Rivetingly fascinating. An account of the Buckley/Vidal debates during the 68 conventions. Gave a vivid picture of both and put it superbly into the political and cultural context of the time. I had not realized how truly significant they were but this shows it. Liked the appropriate use of classical music given educated intelligence of the pair; very appropriate.
End was interesting as the encounter clearly Ffected/scarred them both for the rest of their lives. Also grimly interesting to b made aware that this marked the rise of pundit/talking head TV and manufactured controversy. In that way its success was depressing given the cheap and shouty level it is now. Also that people, self included listen only to their own views from sources that know will agree with..no
Open debate where one might change ones mind or at least b open to alternative ideas.
