Hannibal; Season 1

Unsurprisingly, very grimly graphic but well written and the dovetailing and back story of the well-known characters was very well done. The revealing of Hannibal's true nature was subtly done but there was always the problem that we knew who and what he was and so the dramatic surprise was never truly there. It was a question of when the characters would begin to realise the truth rather than the actual revelation of the truth for us the viewer.

Superb performances all round, particularly Mads M. Second series saw some of but need to start it again before coming to a view about it. The other downside was the fact that in every episode there was a spectacularly violent murder that was the focus, sometimes Hannibal related sometimes not and as the series went on I did begin to have the feeling of...and how will they make is weeks murder even more spectacularly gruesome.
