This was a fun way to spend almost a couple of hours. The film smartly combined horror, comedy ( the two well balanced) a slightly gooey family friendly Xmas film laced with plenty of sharp and cynical asides and scenes to add some acid to the mixture. Towards the end I was not convinced about how it was all going to be tied up but this was smartly, satisfyingly and, by and large, pretty convincingly done...not least by the very final sequence making use of the poster image. The trailer was good in that it gave enough away to make one intrigued but not so much that one felt one had seen the best parts in advance.
Smartly funny and enjoyable.
