Loved it! A thrilling romantic wallow of a film. Yes,everything was CGI but it was so well done that I didn't notice it in an adverse way.
Admired the way the writers managed to fully tell both the full backstory of Tarzan and at the same time give us a richly involving, politically interesting drama that thoughtfully acknowledged the way Tarzan was caught between two worlds.
The villains were suitably villainous. Waltz has a distinctly Bond-type characteristics with his elegant coolness and ruthlessness...and his own special and unique weapon that finally, of course, was no match for Tarzan.
The sort of film that manages to give summer blockbusters a good name.
