Weiner

This was a jaw-dropping, entertaining, illuminating unbelievable ( and at times touching) film. Weiner ( inexplicably?) allowed a camera crew almost total access to follow him in his NYC mayoral campaign ( which he could, and maybe should), have won but which he steadily and spectacularly self- detonated...several times. He was an impressive Congressman...opening footage showed his evisceration of Republican-blocking 9/11 survivors health support bill

He had great support and could communicate his vision well and at the end, in one of the last campaign public meetings we saw him be introduced to a spattering of a few people applauding and then, have spoken briefly and only making AV couple of points, getting at least three times that almost immediately!

He was intriguingly self aware at certain times, at others as obtusely blind as anyone I've ever experienced.

His relationship with wife Huma was one of the most intriguing elements in the film. It was only with very few situations that involved just the two of them that he banished the cameras. But she was interesting and I did wonder if there was something about their relationship that perhaps mirrored/was obtained from the ( supposed) nature of Bill and Hillary; two phenomenally ambitious people tied at the hip and for whom their separate and mutual ambitions was/is the single most important thing in the relationship.

Great film. Catch it while u can

Oh and stay for the credits; there's a glorious encounter with a little boy who is beyond excited at standing next to Anthony Weiner ( who, when the boys says excitedly ' I'm going to look at your Wikipedia entry', responds ' I really wish that you wouldn't!')
