Red Roll Red. Depressing and somewhat dully worthily exploration of a notorious high school footballers rape case.

As suggested above, this does not shed any really new light on a depressingly endemic issue - although unlike many cases, the trial result did give a degree of justice. But more worryingly, it provoked another similar matter earlier on in that year that had, it seems, probably been hushed up by authorities.

The picture given of the town is also, sadly, depressing and familiar. A town badly hit by changing times and recessions seems to have very little left for it, other than its fanatically supported high school football team who seem to provide - as is often the case? - a degree of identity and value in a place where there are no other sources for that feeling.

Kudos to the blogger who first exposed this and took on a lot to keep it in the local public eye - at considerable personal cost, it seems.
