En Immersion: Moodily artistic or pretentiously artsy...?

Bleakly stylish, Film Noir-style B & W French TV series with exceptional range of damaged characters. I am still not sure which side of the fence I come down on in the heading given above but think, finally, I will go for the more positive.

It is interesting to see how the different ‘feel’ of the series compares with Scandi-Noir; it seems to have been more immediately appealing, particularly in terms of characters - development/relationships/current state of being - while the German ones that I have seen seem to fall in between those two characteristics.

We Are The Wave: Thoughtfully well-written depiction of the development of a group of young activists in a small German town

Trapped; Series 2. As grippingly plotted and richly textured as Series 1 without merely recycling ideas.
