Gone for Good: From the extensive, and invariably very sound Harlan Coben factory.

Well, this was… OK but I think I might have OD’d on Harlan C. The plot was engaging, with the usual twists and turns and while these were often surprising there was also something predictable about them – not because of being able to actually predict them but just the technique of the surprise revelation/the reverse etc. etc. As ever, the productions values and ac ting was first rate and whatever else one might say, they certainly did the source material proud. But I think I will put him and his multitude of adaptations on hold for a bit now. He is something of a modern Agatha Christie in being very prolific and you know what you are getting while there are still many surprises along the way. But, as with Agatha Christie, you can tire of the recipe.

Black Mirror: Season 6. Sadly, a definite fall-off in quality in this series.

Obsession: Thoughtfully perceptive and gripping saga of interlinked obsessions.
