Obsession: Thoughtfully perceptive and gripping saga of interlinked obsessions.

I was rather surprised at how much I enjoyed and was involved by this; the initial scenario was not one that instantly appealed and I had ‘fatal attraction’ vibes as well. But I was wrong. It was a remarkably intense psychodrama – melodramatic in the best sense. The performances of the two central characters, William and Anna managed to convey the all-consuming intensity of the relationship without falling into parody. There was lot of alcohol in the story (characters were rarely shown without a glass in their hand) and the sex was often very brutal, quick and animalistic, not particularly romantic. It was also good, although not for purely erotic reasons, to see the European-style nudity (i.e. unashamed) in the show. If it happened, it happened. This element helped to make the drama more involving because of how natural and casual it was.

Gone for Good: From the extensive, and invariably very sound Harlan Coben factory.

Wellmania: Enjoyable mix of comedy and drama with a thread of touching seriousness running through it.
