The Frozen Dead (Glace): Noir-Francaise thriller that effectively meets expectations but with few surprises

A pretty good example of its kind - the noirish killer-thriller with a damaged central character, conflicting personal interests, a major hidden backstory and the significance of events in the past is of central importance to the present.

the central puppet-master villain was highly impressive though - both in terms of performance and character creation - so well done to the creators for this.

the setting was equally important and well used to give a very strong sense of place and a small tightly-knit community although this was not as emphasised as it has been in many series similar to this that I have recently seen.

The Haunting of Bly Manor: Enormously impressive exploration of 'The Turn of the Screw' with the emphasis on atmosphere and creeping terror rather than jump-shot horror

Ratched: Almost painfully stylish/stylised back story of the notoriously iconic Mildred Ratched as depicted in One Flew Over the Cuckoo's Nest
