And the promise of the first film is more than confirmed! The drama has now expanded, both in terms of the nature and connections between crimes still unsolved and past history - quite ancient history too. There is a dark black magic element which has been very smartly and convincingly introduced into the mix - and the lead character’s mother has indeed turned out to be quite a piece of work - up there with Medea as mother of the year I think.
The setting continues to play a vitally important role and the climax of the film takes place during a spectacular flood through the town. Many characters are developing fine nuances and are clearly not who and what they first appeared to be.
