Brother. Edgy and grimly authentic drama with satisfying conclusion

A very effectively powerful film that managed to gradually give a sympathetic picture of young people who, on first appearance, seemed not to be that at all. This was particularly true of Darren Muselet as Enzo who, on first appearance seems monstrously unsympathetic but gradually, as we learn more about him and his life, he becomes one of those whom we care most about - and I for one would be interested to know what finally happened for his character.

The performances were grittily real and convincing and the ending unusual and powerful; - and, in its way, quite satisfying. Although we did not know what happened in the future, I felt that the signs were quite optimistic.

It gives as well a powerful picture of the penal system for young people who are not yet old enough for jail nd the exceptional workers who help them, all of whom are wholly admirable characters doing an impossibly difficult job.

A very fine piece of work.
