Disturbia. Pretty good re-visiting of Rear Window although a bit OTT at the end

Thoroughly enjoyable and, for the most part, gripping thriller. A teen who has just lost his father is put under house arrest and becomes very suspicious of their next-door neighbour. Shia La Bouef as the lead is marvellous; he has a real easy charm and presence on the screen and greatly endears himself to us -a bit different to the effect that he has now, sadly. The first section which carefully establishes the situation and settings is very well done with the lovely development of the relationship between Shia and the new girl next door.

The end, as indicated above, does rather throw everything including the kitchen sink at us but even this is done in a very effective and involving way. Not a great film but an enjoyable way to spend an hour and a half.
