Dry Martina: Small-scale Argentinian drama about escapades of somewhat troubled singer

Slow to engage me but it did as well written and one became involved in the central character and her dilemmas - discovery of a ‘new’ sister - (maybe) - and, implicitly, having to live up to reputation of her very famous and loved mother - also a popular song singer. Interesting central character with, thankfully, some rough edges.

Decent enetrtainment - but an American (or even UK) film would NOT have got away with the implications (clearly spelled out early on) of the title…

Hereditary: Superb with perceptive and creeping sense of dread and terror

Paradise Lost: Mexican ensemble piece focusing on policeman who rescues drag queen from attack and then joins her 'family'.
