Marry My Dead Body. Multi-mixed genre supernatural gay rom-com - sort of.

This was a charmingly entertaining film with the dramatic focus being the Chinese concept idea of a ‘ghost marriage’ to help a spirit be at peace before it could be reborn.

The two leads were charmingly sexy with the dramatic conflict set up by the fact that the ghost was a young activist gay man while the (inadvertently and mistakenly) chosen husband was a non-ghost believing, somewhat homophobic police officer. This makes it sound more flatly and predictably schematic than it actually was but the developing relationship was very nicely done with the ghost helping to solve his own killing. The ending was really touching, powerful almost and JUST avoided tipping into treacly sentimentality (tricky to do when such topics as life after death/family forgiveness/personal growth etc. ) are all in the mix.

Worth seeking out.

The Woman in the Window: Unspeakably and unutterably awful.

The Lost Patient. A well-maintained psychological drama that does its job pretty well.
