Much enjoying this. Got to the Swiss exile. Fascinating seeing centrality of Hungary ( literally and metaphorically) and very impressed how Otto's parents managed to keep their lives grounded when the world was falling apart amongst them...

So, now complete. Fascinating picture not just of an intriguing individual but of an overview of European history. Centrality of Hu Gary fascinating and HIH really made a remarkable and impactful life. Earlier parts (pre WW2 and aftermath) by far the most fascinating.

Shows yet again importance of history...and the subject had a more than usually thoughtful and intelligent awareness of this...although if you come from a hundreds-year old ruling dynasty you probably would have a good sense of history.
