It's a bit weird to say that I enjoyed a film as explicitly violent as this...but I did. A punk band play in a bro-Nazi bar but then stumble across a body and the fun begins. There isomer than meets the eye to the bar though which explains the extraordinary lengths the bar owner Patrick Stuart goes to with his red-laced neo-Nazi army complete with trained attack dogs. The film does not descend into torture porn which it easily could have and the gradual picking off of the victims is surprising and involving, not being done by numbers.
The look of the film is effective often suffused with a green tinge which ironically recalls the rural setting as well as being a visual pun on the room in which they are kept and which acts as both a prison and a safe room.
Will watch the writer/directors career with interest.
