Martha: An illuminating documentary that was apparently a bit too revealing for its very controlling subject.

This was a facinating insight into a grimly driven businessperson of remarkable achievements – and intriguing at how she has recently been discovered by much younger generations.

R J Cutler, the maker is excellent and his interjections and comments are fascinating – as well as clearly filming slightly surreptitiously on a few occasion – but not unpleasantly sneaky in these situations; it seems he just left the camera rolling.. M.S. is SO hyper-aware of her image that it was good to get a few flashes of her in unguarded situations. It was also a very smart observation to see her as the first and original ‘influencer’ -although unlike the present day breed, she does actually have a very wide range of genuine talents.
