Ragnarok: Series 3. Difficult to see how else it could have ended…

Given the meaning of the title, it was always going to be fascinating to see how this was going to be concluded. The solution seemed to cause a lot of angst amongst critics - professional and self-appointed both – but I think that, really, this was the only practical one, short of going full MCM – which would not have made any true dramatic sense.

I can understand, to a degree, some of the outrage as the solution (all in the mind) a variant of the ultimate cliché ‘…and then they woke up and found it was all a dream’. But what would have been the alternative? The absolutely central dramatic arc of the idea of Ragnarok/Gotterdamerung is ‘everything ends’.

But the scenes of the final, traditional legendary apocalypse were very impressive. Overall, an original ‘take’ on the idea.

Borgen; Power and Glory. Very fine and subtly gripping drama

Muted: Initially effectively twisty Spanish psychological thriller, which then proceeds to lose it.
