I watched the first series again before embarking on the second to refresh my memory but found that it, and certainly the second series, was not nearly as good as i thought from my first viewing. It tried too hard to follow in the footsteps of the orginal three films and, ceratinly in Part 2, was vastly over-extended. It was one of those series where one felt one had to watch to the end just to find out the answer - but then slightly regretted the time spent so doing. A part of me felt that the films did what they did superbly and these two series wer just unnecessary.
Still, not bad - but go to the three films for the best way to approach these sort of stories.
